Here is good news for the people of Urban areas of Telangana State.

On Saturday, the Telangana government has decided to reduce the property tax by 50 per cent for the Urban areas during the current year.The officials said the decision has come to reduce the pain for the people owing to Covid-19, and also a Diwali gift from the government’s perspective.

However, the offer will be available only to the taxpayers up to ₹15,000 in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and ₹10,000 in 141 municipalities of Telangana.The Municipal Administration Minister K.T Rama Rao has assured the taxpayers that if any payments already made by now, will be adjusted in the next year.

Speaking at the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said about 13.72 lakh house owners in GHMC and 17.68 lakh others in 141 municipalities across the state would benefit from the estimation.According to the official reports, the relief aggregates to ₹.326.48 crore, wherein GHMC it amounts to ₹196.48 crores and ₹130 crores in municipalities.

Apart from that, the government said the residents who didn’t get the flood aid of ₹10,000 can have one more alternative to entry the cash by Mee Seva centres.Through the on-line utility and paying just Rs.20, they can get the aid at their doorstep by the officers or deposited in their bank accounts.
