Mumbai, November 18 : .Prime Video announced today that it would stream Satyajit Ray classics to be screened at India’s most prestigious cinema festival. This collaboration with an OTT platform is the first of its kind.
As a tribute, the Ray films will be streamed live from November 20 through November 28.
These Ray movies are available for Prime Video viewers.They span many genres and reflect multiple storylines the author worked with.
Prime Video also has the world premiere of “Chhorii”, which will be screened at festival.There are two masterclasses with star-studded speakers, led by Shoojit Sircar and creators of “The Family Man” (November 21), and “Sardar Udham” (November 23).
Masterclasses on ‘Family Man’ will discuss the design process for characters like Shrikant Tiwari (played oh so brilliantly by Manoj Bjpayee).The show’s creators, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Raj and DK Bajpayee will lead the masterclass.
Aparna Purohit is Head of India Originals on Amazon Prime Video.
Ronnie Lahiri and Shoojit Sircar will lead the “Sardar Udham” masterclass.
They will discuss the creation of the “cinematic successes” and how they got there.
Nov 25 is the date for the ‘Chhorii premiere.
The film, directed by Vishal Furia and based on his Marathi film, ‘Lapachhapi,’ stars Nushrratt Bharatt and Pallavi Ajay in key roles.
