Former President Pranab Mukherjee continued to be in a deep coma and on ventilator support, said the Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi Cantt here on Thursday.
“Pranab Mukherjee continues to be in a deep coma and on ventilator support.He is being treated for a lung infection and renal dysfunction.He is hemodynamically stable,” read the statement by the hospital.
The former President had tested positive for COVID-19 and undergone surgery for a brain clot at Army Hospital (R&R) on August 10.
On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID-19 today.I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self-isolate and get tested for COVID-19,” he had posted.
Mr.Mukherjee’s daughter and son – Congress leaders Sharmistha Mukherjee and Abhijit Mukherjee – regularly tweet updates on their father’s health.They have also rubbished “speculation” and “fake news” about his health.
