Mumbai, November 19, : , Poonam Dhillon will play Manta Thakur in a role she considers very dear to her heart. Habib Faizal, of Ishaqzaade fame, will direct the upcoming series ‘Dil Bekaraar.
It travels back to the 1980s, when India was on the brink of new beginnings.
Poonam spoke about her character and said that she enjoyed playing the role in “Dil Bekaraar”.This character is very dear to me.This is the role I’ve always wanted to portray.This is the character of a woman that supports her husband and her children, and is there to support her family.
It’s the same role my mom played for many years and it’s what I’ve been doing in real life.This is a relatable role.
“Dil Bekaraar” explores Debjani Thakur’s love story, and the ideological conflict between Dylan Shekhawat and Debjani Thakur.
It tells a humorous tale of family drama against a background of liberalization.
It stars Poonam as well as veteran actors Raj Babbar, Padmini Kolhapure, and a younger cast of talent like Sahher Bambba and Akshay Oberoi.
Sobo Films produced the show, which is based on Anuja Chauhan’s book ‘Those Pricey Thakur Girls.It will be released on Disney+ Hotstar, November 26.
