An inter-state water dispute is going on between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the past few days.However, the water war between the two Telugu states is intensifying day by day.A water dispute has started between the two Telugu states over the Rayalaseema Upliftment Project.It is getting worse day by day.Telangana alleges that Nagarjuna Sagar farmers will be severely affected if water is diverted from the Srisailam project through the Rayalaseema Upliftment Scheme.Numerous debates are going on between political party leaders of both states.

As a part of this, the state governments deployed a huge police force at various dams in both states.

In this context, the Telangana govt penned to the Krishna River Management Board asking to stop the Rayalaseema upliftment project work.

On the other hand, the Andhra Pradesh government has written to the KRMB to stop power generation in Telangana.It was against this backdrop security was tightened at the dams in the two states.

Police prohibited tourism at the Srisailam reservoir from Saturday.The state governments announced this.

Officials said visitors were denied permission in the wake of the escalating tensions in both states.It remains to be seen when the situation becomes status quo.
