Police have seized a large quantity of cannabis and illegal drugs in Kurnool.Recently, Kurnool Sub Additional SP Gautamisali along with DSPs Maheshwar Reddy and KV Mahesh revealed details regarding this at the Vyas Auditorium of the district police office.
According to credible information, Kurnool 3 Town CI Tabrez and Sub CI Ramakrishna along with their team carried out raids near an abandoned house on the way to Arundhati Nagar near Nandyala check post in the city.17 kg of cannabis worth Rs 4.25 lakh is recovered from them.In addition, police seized 22 milligrams of LSD stamps(illegal drug) worth Rs 27,500 along with 17 kg of cannabis.
Sheikh Shahid Basha, Mohammad Waseem, Jahir Alikhan, Sheikh Shahid Basha, Sheikh Mohammed Suhail of Guntur Kurnool, Sheikh Firoz Basha of B.Tandrapadu, Chakali Dasthagiri, Bunedri Agnimitra of Vishnu Township, Kaatumala Joseph of Fathimapuram in Guntur district were arrested.
It is reported that they were importing cannabis from Giddaluru and Tuni areas.The police arrested these men under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act-1985.
