Star Performances

Ashok Selvan and Sanchitha Shetty have turned in good performances.Nasser appears briefly and as usual has given a competent performance. There are no noticeable faces in rest of the film are did there parts as worth mentioning.

Technical department

Debutante director Deepan was impressive in his work but he took his time to bring attention to the film.As story keeps unfolding in second half till climax he keeps audience on their toes.Songs were alright but the background score by Santhosh Narayanan is soul of the film.

Cinematography by Deepak Kumar Padhy is really good, he showed the villa as painting and especially inside the villa is showed beautifully. It’s already less than two hours film, so editor Leo John Paul have done lot of chopping but he could have pulled out many scenes in first half which was taken to establish movie plot.Production values are neat for a small budget film like this.

Analysis

However, comparisons with Pizza are inevitable and this film is less fun and more moody. That playfulness which characterized the first film is strangely absent here as director goes for a sombre mood.

With Pizza, we always knew that we were being conned and part of the fun was in trying to outguess the twist but this film plays with a straighter face even the final twist feels less of a twist and more of a denouement.

Also, a young man trying to uncover the mystery behind a haunted place isn’t as scary as being trapped inside a haunted house with apparently no chance of escape.

The film is deliberately slow-paced, unfolding gradually with nothing too creepy and no gory death scenes or disgusting supernatural creatures.

Excessive scientific explanations provided to justify the supernatural happenings.
