Chandigarh 28 Aug : The family of Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat, who died in strange circumstances in Goa the state of Goa, have met Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Khattar here and demanded an Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into the cause of her death.The daughter Yashodhara has pleaded with the general public to be respectful of the privacy of the family in pain and not portray her mother’s death in negative picture.
The family gathered with the Chief Minister, who was at home, late on a Saturday.
The Chief Minister offered that he would offer any assistance to the family of Phogat.
He assured the family that he had already spoken with the Goa Chief Minister about the incident an official of the top level in the Office of the Chief Minister said to IANS on Sunday.
“The Chief Minister has assured them that the Haryana government will draft an open note to the Goa government regarding the CBI inquiry,” he added.
After meeting with the Chief Minister An emotional Yashodhara appealed to the media to not depict her mother in negative light.
She demanded that the people responsible for the death of her mother be taken to court.
In the past, the victim’s brother Rinku Dhaka had said that the motive behind the killing could be money or property.
However, he said that his family was “satisfied” with the police investigation into her death in Goa.
“After I arrived in Goa on the 23rd of August, I contacted Sudhir to inquire about what had transpired.He informed me that he was in the hotel room, and the body was in the Goa Medical College,” Dhaka told the media.
“If you’d like to visit the body, visit the site and should you be working with me, then meet me in the hotel.After viewing the body I went to the police station after which the Inspector Desai took me to the hotel in which Sudhir was staying.The inspector was the one who did everything talking with Sudhir.”
The actress was taken to Goa under the pretense of filming.”I did not observe any film or actors.There was no one else apart from Sukhwinder Singh and Sudhir.”
Dhaka was crystal-clear in declaring that the motivation behind the killing could be related to property and money.He also blamed Sudhir for the robbery in Sonali’s home.
In the year 2000, TikTok star Phogat was reported to have been the victim of theft of jewellery and a licensed revolver.Rs 10 lakh in cash and other valuables from her residence in Hisar town.
Sonali’s brother-in law, Kuldeep Phogat, said she was poisoned and was confined in the bathroom.”They hit her and she has bruises.”
The final funeral rites of Sonali took place on the Friday because a large number of people turned out to pay their final tributes.
Phogat who was in controversy after being accused of kicking an official with her slipper unsuccessfully run for the 2019 Assembly elections from Mandi Adampur, losing to Congress candidate Kuldeep Bishnoi, the son of the former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal.
Bishnoi has joined this month Bishnoi this month joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with his wife, Renuka, who was also in the Congress.
The Goa police have arrested four people in the connection with the murder of her.
A Goa court in Goa has granted a 10 day stay in the custody of the police of Sudhir Sangwan as well as Sukhwinder Singh.
