Patna : , Nov 15, 2015 – Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Sharma reiterated Monday that anyone who drinks liquor can die.
“People can die if they consume liquor.Drinking liquor can lead to death.It is a bad substance.It is a dangerous substance.I don’t understand why people drink liquor,” Nitish Kumar said while interacting with mediapersons after the ‘Janta Darbar’ on Monday.”I don’t get why people drink liquor,” Nitish Kumar stated to media persons after Monday’s ‘Janta Darbar”.

The Chief Minister said that he would interact with every district magistrate, superintendent of police and senior officials of the state at the assessment meeting scheduled on Tuesday.

At Tuesday’s assessment meeting, the Chief Minister stated that he would meet with all district magistrates, police superintendents and other senior state officials.The meeting comes after over 40 persons died in the state after consuming illicit liquor in the past few weeks.

After more than 40 people were killed in the state from illicit liquor consumption in the last few weeks, the meeting is scheduled for Tuesday.

“We will try to find out the loose gaps besides strictly implementing the rules to prevent violations.”We will work to fill in the gaps and enforce the rules to avoid violations.We will take stringent action against the violators,” he said.

He said that we would take strict action against violators.

The Chief Minister also said that the ban on liquor in the state was imposed with the consent of the opposition leaders in April 2016, but now some people are opposing the same.

According to the Chief Minister, the prohibition on alcohol in the state was also imposed with consent from the opposition leaders in April 2016.However, some people now oppose the move.

“We had imposed the ban on liquor after receiving complaints from women, and the opposition leaders and MLCs had passed the resolution then.”After receiving complaints from women, we had placed a ban on liquor.The opposition leaders and MLCs then passed the resolution.After the ban, a large number of people had quit drinking.Many people stopped drinking after the ban.But some people are still addicted to alcohol and they are the ones indulging in wrongdoings.Some people still abuse alcohol, and they are responsible for the wrongdoings.We will take stringent action against them,” Nitish Kumar said.

Nitish Kumar stated that they will pursue them with all the force possible.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of opposition in the Bihar Assembly, said: “He (Nitish Kumar) used to hold high-level meetings with the same officials and ministers.Tejashwi Yoav, the leader in opposition to the Bihar Assembly, stated: “He (Nitish) used to hold high level meetings with the same officials as ministers.What change has he made?.What has he done to make a difference? Liquor tragedies keep occuring in Bihar with people losing their lives.”.People are still dying in liquor tragedies in Bihar.”

“I firmly believe that the gangs of Nitish Kumar are involved in these incidents,” Tejashwi Yadav said while pointing at the Muzaffarpur shelter home sexual assault on minor girls and the latest murder of Rintu Singh Purnea where the family members of the deceased alleged the involvement of cabinet minister Lesi Singh.Tejashwi Yadav stated, “I strongly believe that the Gangs of Nitish Kumar were involved in these incidents,” while pointing out the Muzaffarpur shelter for sexual assault on minor girls as well as the latest Rintu Singh Purnea murder.Family members of the deceased claimed the involvement of Lesi Singh, cabinet minister.

“In every case of murder, kidnapping or any other crime, the people of JD-U or the BJP are involved,” Tejashwi Yadav said.Tejashwi Yadav stated that “in every case of murder or kidnapping, the people from JD-U and the BJP are implicated.”
