Hyderabad 7 August : Actor and politician Pawan Kalyan, who was elected on Sunday, took up the challenge of Telangana’s Industry Minister K.T.Rama Rao to wear handloom. The Jana Sena Party leader took to Twitter to accept the challenge, and then posted his photos wearing handlooms.
He stated that he accepted “Ram Bhai’s challenge accept.because of my admiration and love for our weaving communities”.
The well-known actor nominated Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, and BJP MP K.Laxman to post their photos with handlooms.They also show their appreciation on the national day of handlooms.
In the past, Rama Rao had accepted the challenge of his Cabinet colleague V.Srinivas Goud and posted photos with handlooms.
KTR stated that he was using handlooms for the past week and was actively promoting it.He suggested industrialist Anand Mahindra, former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, and Pawan Kalyan to take on the challenge.
Srinivas Goud had nominated megastar Chiranjeevi, badminton Star P.V.Sindhu as well as KTR for the competition.
In the meantime, KTR wished weavers on the national day of handlooms.He has once more pleaded with the Government of India to review and reverse its foolish decision to put in place GST for handlooms.
“This dying art requires our complete help,” he tweeted.
