MP Shashi Tharoor backs the idea of Irfan Pathan to have a game between Farewell team vs Current Indian Team.
After MS Dhoni retired from Cricket, almost all cricket fans felt sorry for not having a farewell game for him.The urge is still in the minds of all Indian cricket fans, and the demand for a send-off game after the pandemic is rising.This has gone to the next level after the former allrounder Irfan Pathan suggested an idea.
Excluding Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, no other player from Indian cricket got proper farewell game including ‘the Indian wall’ Rahul Dravid.Hence, Pathan through his twitter suggested conducting a charity cum farewell game between retired players, who didn’t get a proper send-off, versus current Indian cricket team.
He also suggested his team list with a pic which has MS Dhoni at his favourite spot 7.
MP Shashi Tharoor is highly impressed with Pathan’s idea and replied with a comment “Fabulous idea @irfanPathan! Every one of you has been a hero for India.This would also be a great return to serious first-class cricket for the current lot, whose skills may have rusted under the #Covid20 #Lockdown!” (sic).
Pathan’s tweet has garnered high support from cricket fans and it has to be seen how BCCI reacts to his idea.
