17 from Lok Sabha and 8 from Rajya Sabha have tested positive for Covid-19 on the first day of Parliament’s Monsoon Session.

According to official reports, 17 members of the Lok Sabha and 8 from the Rajya Sabha have got positive for Covid-19 before the Parliament begin on Monday during the Monsoon session.

The reports say BJP has the maximum number of MPs – 11 in the list while YSR Congress has two MPs.

Reportedly, the Shiv Sena, DMK, RLP, TMC, RJD, Akali Dal, and TRS has one member each tested positive for Coronavirus.AAP will not be participating in current Rajya Sabha proceedings as its only Rajya Sabha MP has also tested positive for Covid-19.

In addition to that, at least seven Union ministers are said to have the infection.

Consequently, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has given only 12 minutes to Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan to speak on the coronavirus pandemic.Ironically, he summed up his speech in brief and tabled the remaining points to all the members to read.

Parliament’s Monsoon Session began on Monday amid strict guidelines where all the MPs registered their attendance through a mobile app.
