New Delhi : , India’s wicketkeeper Rishabh Pan struggled to score runs against New Zealand in the T20 Series. This has led many people to question his temperament and approach.
Robin Uthappa, a former India cricketer believes that India’s wicketkeeper may have suffered from the effects of being trapped in multiple bio-bubbles. Uthappa said that Pant should take a short break to regain the rhythm.
For the past couple of years, Rishabh has traveled with the Indian team almost non-stop.Without complaining, he has been available for any and all tasks.Being in a bubble drains you.Uthappa stated that he believes this also influences his performance on the field.
It could also be mental fatigue or lack of clarity. It’s only a matter time until he returns to the field and plays the game the way that we all know.He is an elite player.Uthappa said that he thinks he should take a little break from cricket.
Daniel Vettori, an ex-captain of New Zealand, addressed Pant’s issue earlier, saying that, if Pant doesn’t score enough runs, it could lead to him being replaced.
I would be shocked if the team management doesn’t discuss what they want from Pant.Pant has to set the right pace. They have the option to look elsewhere if Pant doesn’t.KL and Ishan Kishan are available to keep wickets in T20.Vettori stated that the team will allow Pant to discover his groove and know they are capable of changing very quickly.”
