Pankaj will soon be seen in the hilarious comedy ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ from the house Yash Raj Films.He has a completely different opinion about both mediums.
He gives a clear answer when asked about his views on OTT and cinemas.
According to him, “As an actor I don’t see any difference between the media of cinema and OTT.A cinema provides a communal viewing experience.300 people experience the same emotions together; they share the same feelings.They laugh, cry, and sympathize with each other.
He continued, “When Bertolt Brecht, German playwright and theatre practitioner, was writing his plays, he used 5 places for his actors between the audience.
They were asked to have a good time and then let their laughter spread throughout the auditorium, making everybody laugh.This is theatre’s essence.
The actor draws a clear line between OTT and cinemas.He says that OTT allows you to watch the same content from your phone or laptop screen.Being in community and being isolated are both necessary.That’s why I view cinemas and OTT as a combination of the two.
