Ramallah, December 13th : .According to state authorities, Palestine wants to raise the annual trade with Jordan to $500,000,000.According to Amjad Ghanem (the Chief of Staff of the Palestinian Authority Cabinet), “Palestine wants to increase the volume trade with Jordan after an understanding reached recently between both sides”, Amjad Ganem told media Sunday.
On Thursday, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Ishtaye and his Jordanian counterpart Bisher al-Khasawneh chaired the meetings of the sixth session of the Jordanian-Palestinian joint higher committee, Xinhua news agency reported.
According to Palestinian news agency, the meetings were held in Ramallah in West Bank.They resulted into signing nine memoranda and executive programs.
These include cooperation in areas such as culture, education and social development.
According to official Palestinian reports, Jordanian exports to the Palestinian market amounted to $152.2 million in 2020, down by 6.3 per cent in 2019.
Meanwhile, Palestinian exports to the Jordanian market totaled $50.5 million in 2020, up by 6.4 per cent in 2019.
