Jammu : , Dec 14, 2014 : .On Tuesday, Abu Zarar, a Pakistani terrorist (LeT), was shot and killed by security forces in Jammu’s Poonch area. According to police sources, Abu Zarar from the LeT was shot and killed during a gun fight in Surankote village in Poonch district.
He was wanted by the security forces.
It is densely wooded in the area of the encounter.
As one militant could be hiding in the region, reinforcements were rushed to reinforce the perimeter.
“Abu Zarar operated in Rajouri, Poonch and other districts.Sources said that one AK47 rifle and four magazines as well as some Indian currency were recovered from the hands of the slain militant.
The gunfight erupted after a joint team of the police and the army cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about the presence of terrorists.
As the security forces zeroed in on the spot where the terrorists were hiding they came under a heavy volume of fire that triggered the encounter.
