Sydney, December 25, 2008 : Shadab Khan from Pakistan is joining the Sydney Sixers as a leg-spinner for the remaining Big Bash League-11 season.Shadab joined the Sixers in an international role.
He was brought on board following a season-ending neck strain for Ben Manenti, an Australian off-spinner, and a short-term injury to Steve O’Keefe (veteran spinner).
Shadab, 23, made his Pakistan debut in T20I while still just a teenager.
He has now played 64 matches and taken 73 wickets.At a strike rate 136.81, he also hits 18.33 runs per innings with the bat.
Shadab was a part of six of the matches at the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup for Pakistan.He took nine wickets including a run of 4/26.
Glenn Maxwell, Mitch Marsh and Dave Warner were all out of action in the five-wicket defeat to Australia.
In the middle of BBL-7 Shadab played three games for the Brisbane Heat, scoring two wickets each.
Greg Shipperd, Sixers’ head coach said that he is excited about the possibility of Shadab joining his team.Shipperd stated that Shadab will be joining us to cover the loss of bowlers and Joins forces with Todd Murphy and Lloyd Pope (both Australian) as exciting spinners.
All three men have demonstrated at different levels their ability to be great players.Shadab is a valuable player in every aspect of the game.

Next up, the Sixers will play the Sydney Thunder at Sydney Showground Stadium on Boxing Day.The Brisbane Heat is next at the SCG December 29.The Sixers then embark on a five match road trip, which includes two major fixtures at Coffs Harbour (January 1st and 9th).
