After Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai‘, Netflix has now come up with a Tamil anthology titled ‘Paava Kadhaigal‘ which shows four heart-touching tales of sin and crime.This anthology is directed by leading Tamil filmmakers- Sudha Kongara, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Vignesh Shivan, and Vetri Maaran.
‘Paava Kadhaigal’ has an ensemble cast starring Anjali, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Kalidas Jayaram, Kalki Koechlin, Prakash Raj, Sai Pallavi, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, and Simran among others that will start streaming on Netflix from December 18th.
Going by the trailer, the filmmakers have whipped up a dark movie about the horrific acts that people are willing to commit in the name of honour.The first story is about a father whose daughter gets married to a person of another caste while the story is about the director Gautham Menon, who is playing the role of a father to a girl who wishes to become an astronaut.
The third is a lesbian love story where Anjali falls in love with a lady Kalki Koechlin and the fourth story is about an inter-religion love between a Muslim guy and a Hindu girl.
The anthology is produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies and Ashi Dua Sara’s Flying Unicorn Entertainment.
Netflix also has announced another anthology where another four popular Tamil filmmakers- Venkat Prabhu, Pa Ranjith, M Rajesh, and Chimbu Devan are joining hands for a new project titled ‘Victim’.
It also had announced another anthology produced by ace director Mani Ratnam titled Navarasa, a nine-part series which will be made in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
