In a surprise at political front, AIMIM (Majlis) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi stated that their main opponent in the upcoming Telangana Municipal Elections would be the very TRS party itself.Speaking at a press meet, Asaduddin Owaisi came out on clarification about the decision to contest against TRS.
‘In the upcoming Telangana municipal elections, our main opponent is TRS.AIMIM is a national party.We have 2 MLAs and 1 MP from Maharashtra, and we have our presence in the Bihar Assembly too.
We are happy about Law & Order, how the minorities are being treated in the state.At the same time, we need not contest with TRS for the upcoming elections.Our friendship with TRS will continue.
We want to contest alone, and want to see how we perform in urban and rural Telangana.Since there is no place for BJP and Congress in Telangana, our main opponent is TRS’, Owaisi said.
Though the AIMIM Chief justified his move smartly, many opine that there are trying to send a strong signal to the ruling TRS party.
