Due to the pandemic that was started this march, the film industry was paused for a moment and the makers have looked for other options to release their films and then came the idea of OTT releases through various platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Aha, Zee 5, Disney + Hotstar, etc.Several films took the liberty of releasing through these platforms from low-budget films to much-hyped films of big stars.Now, the theatres are slowly opening with a fixed percentage of occupancy and Sai Dharam Tej’s ‘Solo Brathuke So Better’ is the first film to hit the theatres today and the response is still awaited on the movie talk.
Moreover, it is now announced that two films that had an OTT release will again be featured in the theatres.
One of them is ‘Orey Bujjiga’ that stars Raj Tarun, Malvika Nair, and Hebah Patel.The romantic comedy hit the OTT platform digital medium AHA on October 2nd and managed to entertain the viewers with its comedy quotient.
On Friday, the makers have announced that the film will be released in the theatres on December 31st.The film’s producer, KKRadha Mohan said that “On the occasion of New Year 2021, we’ve decided to release Orey Bujjiga in theaters.
Considering the solid response on OTT, we’re sure that the youthful entertainer will entertain all sections of the audience and pull them into the theaters.”
In addition to that, Nani’s ‘V’ is also being traditionally released in the theatres on January 1st, 2021 after it was released on September 5th 2020 on Amazon Prime Video.‘V’ was postponed after cinemas were announced shut due to the coronavirus induced lockdown.The makers then decided to go for a direct-to-digital release.
The film, directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti and produced by Dil Raju also stars Sudheer Babu, Nivetha Thomas, Aditi Rao Hydari in important roles.
In regard to other films, Raj Tarun has kicked-off his second film with Vijay Kumar Konda and most of the technical crew who worked for ‘Orey Bujjiga’ are reprising their positions.
Besides this project, the young actor is playing a stand-up comedian in his upcoming romantic-comedy directed by debutante Santosh Mohan Veeranki.On the other hand, Nani is currently busy with the shooting of ‘Tuck Jagadish’ that released its first look poster today marking the occasion of Christmas and is planned to hit the theatres in summer 2021.
