In 2022, Hybrid Clouds and AI will continue to dominate the industry.
Hybrid Cloud
Organisations will be focusing more on determining what workloads should go where as they move forward with their multi-cloud and hybrid journeys.
As they move towards modernization, they’re examining the possibility of migrating more complex, mission-critical workloads.
They will have to assess their IT environment in the coming year to determine which applications and workloads are most suitable for cloud computing and which ones should be kept on-premise.
Companies will need to create a hybrid cloud architecture which is open-source by design.This avoids vendor lock in and allows seamless interoperability among environments.
Cyberthreats increase, security is a top priority
A key factor driving the adoption of hybrid cloud and multicloud approaches is the need for vendors to be less concentrated as cyberthreats increase.Enterprises will have to place high priority on data protection and use an open architecture that has a single point-of-control for security.
It is important to have a comprehensive view of all threats in order to prevent them from happening.Cybersecurity is not just a matter of business continuity.
It is quickly becoming a topic at the Board level that will require a solid plan and quarterly updates.
The rise of the ‘Industry Clouds’

The IBM Institute of Business Value’s report titled “Unlocking the Business Value of Hybrid Cloud” in India found that 74% of respondents consider the ability to manage governance and compliance across multiple cloud platforms and to comply with industry regulations to be extremely or very important for the success of digital initiatives.
Compliance and security are crucial for highly-regulated sectors like the government and financial services.
The trend has been to adopt specialised cloud solutions that are compliant with regulatory requirements.To balance innovation and strict compliance, organisations will be more likely to use industry-specific platforms.
It is possible to stay ahead of the competition by using the right platform with integrated controls.
AI
Large organisations and governments used virtual assistants to manage the crisis.
As AI becomes more prominent in the customer service journey and with growing digitally connected customers, 2022 will see consumers experience more personalized and fully realized interactions.
AI will be a crucial part of helping companies achieve sustainability benchmarks via greater measurement, data collection and carbon accounting.
