Telangana and AP governments to sell onions at low cost in Rythu Bazars.
Onion price is ascending day by day across the country since October first week.
Currently, the onion is bringing tears in everyone’s eyes with its price at Rs 100 per kg.With retail shops and grocery stores targeting high price, even Rythu bazaars have also marked onion price as Rs 80-90 per kg.
Hence, the Telangana state government has decided to sell the onions at a subsidised cost of Rs 35 per kg across 11 Rythu Bazaars in Hyderabad.The officials say each individual can purchase up to 2 kg onion from the government Rythu Bazaar stalls on submitting an identification card.
Similarly, Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has also directed the officials to ensure that onions must sell at Rs 40 per kg at Rythu bazaars.As a result, Long queues witnessed at various Rythu bazaars in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam since Friday.
On receiving the news about those who create artificial scarcity of onions in the name of floods and heavy rains, Jagan has ordered the officials to take strict actions at all government Rythu bazaars.
