Pune, Dec 5, : .The new Omicron variant of Covid-19 has gripped Maharashtra.
Seven new cases were detected in Pune, three of which were minors, according to health officials. Three people infected arrived from Africa.
Three others were close friends who tested positive for Omicron and one had just traveled to Finland.
All are stable and receiving treatment at the Jijamata Hospital, Pimpri-Chinchwad.
Since December 1, the state health authorities have been watching closely on all passengers arriving at international airports in Mumbai and Pune.
