The Dasara festival on Indrakeeladri temple in Vijayawada, which will start from October 7, is being organized abiding by the Covid protocols.Recently, a review meeting was held in the Corporation Hall on the arrangements made for the Dasara festival at Vijayawada Durga temple.

Krishna District Collector J Nivas, who presided over the meeting, said that the visiting devotees were advised to bring along a Covid certificate stating that they had been fully vaccinated with two doses of the vaccine.

Also, he said that Bhavanis’ should end their initiation in their places, and they should not come to Vijayawada in the wake of Covid-19.

He said vehicles would not be allowed up the hill, and 15 vehicles would be set up for VIP, handicapped and press devotees.It has been announced that VIP, protocol and break darshans will be cancelled as a large number of devotees are likely to arrive on the day of Moola Nakshatra.

Speaking on this occasion, Minister Vellampalli said that the officials decided to allow only 4,000 people through free darshan every day, 3,000 on a Rs 300 ticket and another 3,000 on a Rs 100 ticket.The temple is organizing Dussehra celebrations as a state celebration, said Vanimohan, principal secretary, Endowment department.
