Bhubaneswar : , Nov 27, 2012 – Officials announced that Santosh Kumar Das (assistant engineer in the Integrated Tribal Development Agency, (ITDA)) in Baripada, Mayurbhanj, was arrested by the Odisha vigilance section on Saturday on corruption charges. Friday’s raids by vigilance teams found Das’s assets at Rs 2.80 crore.This is 245 percent more than his income sources.
According to the Odisha government’s anti-corruption wing, it has seized Rs 41.77 million in cash.This is the largest raid by the organisation so far.
The vigilance stated that the search operation also found 659 grams of gold and three buildings, a flat and three plots.
It said that a case has been filed against the engineer.He is being referred to the court of Special judge Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, for possession of disproportionate assets.
