Chief Electoral Officer gives green signal for Coronavirus patients to vote in Odisha by-poll elections.
By-poll elections are on the way for two assembly seats in Odisha, and the officials are taking every step to make sure not even a single vote gets wasted.
On Wednesday, the officials have said that even Covid-19 positive patients are allowed for the voting.An isolation ward will be readied at the voting venue, and the Coronavirus positive voters can stamp their vote at the last hour of the poll, says the officials.
The by-polls are going to held in Balasore and Jagatsinghpur districts.Chief Electoral Officer S K Lohani has a meet with the collectors and the police chiefs of the respective districts and decided in accordance.
The officials have disclosed that only 1000 voters will be allowed per booth to ensure the guidelines of Covid-19.
The by-polls have come due to the untimely death of the two MLA’s at the respective constituencies.
Earlier, the Balasore Sadar seat was on the name of BJP while the Tirtol seat was won by the BJD.On September 4, the Election Commission has decided to conduct by-polls for the 64 vacancies in different state assemblies.Reportedly, the elections will go simultaneously with Bihar Assembly elections and ends by November 29.
