Washington 12th, August : Former US President Barack Obama’s foundation set a target in the summer of last year of raising $1.6 billion between 2021 between 2021 and 2026 to finance construction of his presidential center and an endowment to support it for the next few years.

In the five years of existence the foundation has raked in an amount of 866 million in revenue.

The balance of the foundation’s fund of grants and pledges receivable was $242 million in 2021.

This figure is which reflects the commitments of donors who have pledged to pay over a period of time.

At the close of 2021, the net assets stood at $680 million, an increase of 21% over last year.

The foundation’s board also announced an endowment in 2021, securing it with $1 million.

“It’s difficult to believe that it’s been just five years since Michelle and I founded the Obama Foundation, especially because many things have changed since when we first started it,” Barack Obama wrote in the introduction to the annual report.

The foundation has stated that it will cost $700 million for the construction of the OPC’s campus and buildings and another $90 million to gather artifacts, design exhibits , and prepare for its opening.
