Ajay Dube, a wildlife activist, was presenting a case in public interest litigation.

Aditya Sanghi, representing the petitioner, said that even the safelight radio collared tigers are being taken or fall prey to dangerous traps in protected areas because of negligence by the forest department.

The petitioner asked the Court to order the respondents immediately to stop poaching of state tigers.

Otherwise, “the day is not far when the state can no longer rely on tigers”

The state is killing or poaching tigers across its territory and there’s no coordination with the Centre and the state.Sanghi stated that coordination is needed between the tigers reserves and state governments, as well as experts and other authorities.

Recent deaths of two radio-collared tigers in Panna Tiger Reserve resulted in their being radio collared.According to the Petitioner, causes of tigers’ deaths in the state include electrocution, poisoning, infighting with people, and railroad accidents.

For years, there has been a strong connection between tiger poaching and Madhya Pradesh. It is clear that poaching has been going on using different methods.

To inflict violence on the tigers, they may be electrocuted or poisoned. The petitioner submitted that they are trying a different method, and this could not have been possible without the involvement of wildlife officials and forest officers.”
