Noida 8 August : Noida administration on Monday destroyed the structure that was illegally built by self-proclaimed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shrikant Tyagi in an apartment in a residential area just three days following the time he was involved in an argument that was violent with an individual over the planting of palm trees.As the bulldozers drove through Tyagi’s invading territory, the citizens of the community showed immense joy and shared sweets with each other.
The BJP has dissociated itself from accused Tyagi and claimed he was never a member of their party However Tyagi’s social media profiles provide a different story.
In his Twitter profile, Tyagi presents himself as an enthusiastic leader of the party, and has photos with various of senior saffron officials.
He has also shared a number of edited photos that featured the BJP logo.But, Tyagi blocked his Twitter account just hours after the incident.
Tyagi had invaded the space of the group and built an wooden shed with several pillars underneath it.
The story was made public on Friday, when a number of videos of the incident were shared on social media in which Tyagi was heard shouting abuse towards the victim.Social users shared the reaction of the victim in which she described the whole incident.
“I reside in Grand Omaxe.
A man known as Shrikant Tyagi, residing on the ground floor, was encroaching on the community by putting in small and large-sized plant species in the common space.If I asked him to get rid of the plants, he denied and when I tried to get them removed, he hurled abuses at me, my husband, and children,” the woman said.
The same clip shows residents of the society can be heard accusing Tyagi of invading the area by putting up large and small plants.
According to one of the videos of the incident, as seen through IANS, Tyagi could also be seen pushing and threating the woman.”Don’t you ever touch my plants or I’ll be watching you .,” he was heard saying.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ankita Sharma, had earlier told that shortly after the video was made popular on social media sites, Noida Police immediately swung into action and filed an FIR in accordance with section 354 (Assault or force criminally applied to woman with intent to offend her modesty) of the IPC at the Panchsheel police station.
The top officer has promised that the suspect will soon be detained and a retaliatory legal action is initiated against him.
