Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin will not be launched on August 15.
In July ICMR has said that the Indian Coronavirus vaccine, Covaxin should be readied by August 15.From then on, people are sharing the information on social platforms and are hoping to get in queue as soon as the vaccine arrives.But they are not aware of the information that ICMR has stated it to fasten the clinical trials and it is not a deadline.
Putting an end to those speculations, Indian Council of Medical Research has said that the vaccine is not ready yet and all the forwarding messages on the social media are false.It also denied a viral letter from ICMR in which Bharat Biotech has received the central government permission to launch the vaccine on August 15.Currently, ICMR and its collaborative company Bharat Biotech are conducting Phase 1 and Phase 2 trials of Covaxin and the exact date of official launch is not confirmed.
On the other hand, Russian scientists are hardly trying to launch their first-ever Coronavirus vaccine by the end of August.At present, the Phase 2 trials are in finishing stages and pretty soon the Russian government is planning for Phase 3 trials.The government is hoping to release the vaccine for public use by August second week.
