Patna 9 Aug : Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan on Tuesday invited Nitish Kumar to form a government in Bihar after the JD-U leader made his case and presented the list of 165 MLAs in support of Nitish Kumar. The ceremony to swear in of Nitish Kumar will take place at 2 p.m.on Wednesday at the Rajendra Mandapam inside Raj Bhavan.
Alongside him, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav will also swear in as the Deputy Chief Minister.
Nitish Kumar would like to swear his oath on Wednesday afternoon since it is an “Shubh Muhurat” (auspicious day).
Wednesday is an important “Purnima” of the ongoing Sawan month that is of significant importance in Hindu traditions.
According to some sources, six ministers will be sworn in on Wednesday, there is a chance that just Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav will be sworn in as well as the cabinet’s expansion could happen later.
However, it’s not known who the other MLAs will swear in at the Wednesday’s ceremony.Sources have stated that the portfolios held by the BJP will be handed over to the RJD as well as the Congress and the Left parties.
The top leaders of the Mahagathbandhan are not clear on how to distribute of portfolios, but sources have confirmed that Nitish Kumar will keep the Home portfolio with himself, while the office of Assembly Speaker will be handed over to the RJD.
It is believed that Nitish Kumar will divide the portfolios in the proportion of 1:4, which is one minister to four MLAs.There is also the possibility that, since there are seven alliance partners in the Mahagathbandhan the ratio could increase to 1:5.
For JD-U, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Ashok Chaudhary, Shrawan Kumar, Jama Khan, and Sumit Singh are the front-runners for ministerial berths.
To the RJD, Bhai Virendra, Tej Pratap Yadav Rahul Tiwari, etc .are as well in the race.
