Patna 19 Aug : With many districts of central and south Bihar suffering from drought, Bihar’s the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday conducted an aerial survey of the affected areas to assess the situation.
But, the helicopter had to take off in Gaya due to the bad weather conditions after he visited Gaya, Nawada, Aurangabad, Arwal, Nalanda and other districts that are suffering from drought.

The Bihar chief minister is worried about the drought conditions and conducted the first aerial survey since the creation of the new government.

According to an official from the Met department the deficiency in the amount of rainfall in Bihar is at 41 percent this season.

“We have only registered 30 percent of rainfall in Bihar during this monsoon, which is 41 percent lower than the norm.We don’t anticipate to see rain in the last few days of August,” a Water Resource Department official said.

According to the report 46 percent of the precipitation was reported in the beginning week of August, however it has decreased in the third and second weeks.In June the rainfall was normal in 19 districts however it was lower than normal in the months of July and August.

Other than Araria, Supaul, and Kishanganj The rain in the remaining districts is below the normal.

The official also said that the planting of paddy saplings has already started in the most districts.They are awaiting the rain to fall.Restoring their crop is a huge issue for farmers.
