Sources suggest that Nitish Kumar opted out of the meeting because he recently recovered from a Covid infection.

Recently the gap between BJP and JD(U) appears to be growing.

Sources suggest that Nitish Kumar isn’t pleased with the party’s Prawas program in 200 assembly constituencies of Bihar.
Sources claim that sources say that the BJP wanted to spread the message that it will contest all 243 Assembly seats in future elections.
In response to the question, JD(U) national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh also stated that the JD(U) party is working on the 243 seats.

In the past Nitish Kumar was adamant about the basis on which Niti Aayog assessed the development efforts of an individual state.

Niti Aayog in its annual report ranked Bihar as the lowest of the index of development in the entire country. This could be a reason for not attending the next meeting of the Aayog.
