Patna 16 Aug : Following the cabinet’s expansion Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has retained his previous portfolios which included general administration, home ministry and cabinet secretariat, as well as vigilance with himself. He has handed over the health ministry to his deputy Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.
He has also given him the responsibility of coordinating with road construction urban development, rural and housing development.
Other ministers in the JD-U quota comprise Ashok Chaudhary with the portfolio of building construction, Bijendra Prasad Yadav with the power department of planning and development Vijay Kumar Chaudhary with finance, commerce and the ministry of parliamentary affairs, Sharawan Kumar rural development Lesi Singh, consumer and fertilizer affairs Sanjay Jha Water development ministry Information and Public Relations, Sunil Kumar, liquor department for excise and prohibition, Jayant Raj, minor department of water resources.
Shella Kumari is the department of transportation, Madan Sahani is the social welfare minister.Jama Khan is the minority affairs minister.
The portfolios of ministers in the JD-U quota are nearly identical to the ones previously, with the exception that Vijay Kumar Chaudhary is given the finance ministry.It was previously was held by Tar Kishore Prasad under the NDA government.
Nitish Kumar didn’t transfer the portfolio to the RJD.The portfolio of the education ministry was given to the RJD.
In the RJD, Alok Kumar Mehta is the new land record holder and revenue minister.Tej Pratap Yadav is the new environment forests, climate change and forest, Surendra Prasad Yadav ministry of cooperatives Dr Ramanand Yadav is the new mining and geology minister.Kumar Sarvajeet is the tourism minister.Lalit Kumar Yadav is PHED Minister, Samir Kumar Mahaseth takes over from Shahnawaz Hussain as the industry minister.Prof.Chandrashekher Yadav is the new education minister.
This post was previously held by JD-U leader Vijay Kumar Chaudhary.Anita Devi is the new EBC and OBC welfare minister.
Jitendra Rai is appointed the arts and culture, as well as youth affairs ministry.Sudhakar Singh is appointed agriculture minister, Kartik Kumar is the law minister.
He is an MLC and is very close to Bahubali leader Anant Singh.
Shamim Ahmed is the sugarcane’s minister.
Shahnawaz Ahmad is in charge of the responsibility of disaster management.Surendra Ram takes over as the minister of labour resources and Mohammad Israil Mansoori is given information technology.
In the Congress, Afaq Alam becomes Minister of fisheries and animal husbandry, and Murari Prasad Gautam is appointed the role of Panchayati Raj minister.
An independent Sumit Kumar Singh is awarded the science and technology ministerial.
