After a debacle of 12 flops, Nitin bounced back with the film ‘Ishq’.His chemistry with Nitya Menen won accolades and made the film a hit at the box office.
Post that, ‘A Aa’ with Trivikram turned out to be a super hit.It looked like his career is back on track not until he ended up with hat-trick disasters.Films ‘Lie’, ‘Chal Mohan Ranga’, and ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’ turned out to be nightmares for distributors.Only Srinivasa Kalyanam managed to recover 45% of the investment.
Currently, his latest film ‘Bheeshma’ that is gearing up for its release tomorrow has performed decently when it came to pre-release business.Bheeshma pre-release business closed at Rs 23.50 Crores. The numbers are quite decent given his stardom, fan following, and previous three films’ results.
This is Nitin’s 18th year in the industry, after making his debut with Jayam in 2002.
On the contrary, Vijay Devarakonda who made his debut with Nuvvila in 2011 rose to stardom with Arjun Reddy that released in 2017.
Post that film’s success VD too has seen a slump in his career. His latest film World Famous Lover did a pre-release business of Rs 30.50 Crores, while Dear Comrade did Rs 34.60 Crores.Despite everything said and done, Nitin’s upcoming film Bheeshma managed to reach only 77% of VD’s WFL pre-release business.Guess it is time for Hero Nitin to improve his market share, and fan base, before he vanishes.
