NIA chargesheets against a banned CPI(Maoist) woman leader in Araku MLA murder case

The National Investigation Agency has filed a supplementary charge sheet against a 45-year-old banned CPI Maoist member.The National Investigation Agency in Vijayawada recently filed a charge sheet against her in the special court.

NIA identified 45-year-old Maoist area committee member Sake Kalavati alias Bhavani as accused in the murder of Araku MLA Kidari Sarveshwara Rao and former MLA Siveri Somu in Andhra Pradesh three years ago.She was charged under Section 302 as well as Section 18, 20, 38, 39 of the Unlawful Act and Section 25 (1A) of the Arms Act.

The NIA has already filed a charge sheet against nine people.Recently NIA has added the name of Sake Kalavati to the list.

According to the NIA charge sheet, the Maoists had planned to reach Dumbrigade 15 days prior.Then, Kakuri Paddanna and Kalavati planned to assassinate Araku MLA and former MLA.For this, a camp was organized with 40 members.

MLA Kidari Sarveshwara Rao and former MLA Siveri Somu were brutally assassinated by Maoists on September 23, 2018, in Livitiputtu, Dumbriguda Mandal, Visakhapatnam district.

An FIR has been registered at the Dumbriguda police station in this regard.The NIA examined the spot and registered a case in December 2018.
