New Zealand‌ Police dance to Kala Chashma song during Diwali Celebrations

Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm in New Zealand, especially at the Wellington Police Academy, as a video of their festivities has gone viral on social media.Bollywood party songs were played as police officers danced and made merry at the academy while people recorded their performance.

HOW WAS DIWALI CELEBRATED AT THE WELLINGTON POLICE ACADEMY?

The stage was set at the Wellington Police Academy as police officers in their uniforms lined up on the podium.Their Diwali act began with a dance performance to the hit 2016 song Kar Gayi Chull from the film Kapoor & Sons.

It was followed by Kala Chashma, Sidharth Malhotra, and Katrina Kaif’s blockbuster song from their 2016 film Baar Baar Dekho.Their dance steps were spot on as most of the officers managed to pull off the desi thumkas and jhatkas during their performance.

People in the audience recorded their dance performance, and cheered and clapped for the officers.

New Zealand has a sizeable population of Indians and Indian-origin people.According to figures of the 2018 census, the number of Indian-origin people, including Fiji Indians, in New Zealand crossed 2,30,000, contributing to 4.7% of the New Zealand population.

This is not the first time that cops in the country have danced to Bollywood songs as part of Diwali celebrations – it also happened in 2017
