New Parliamentary Board emphasises diversity: BJP

New Delhi, Aug 17 : After removing the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from the party’s top decision-making body the BJP declared that its newly formed parliamentarian board showed organisational strength and emphasized diversity.
The BJP announced on Wednesday the new composition of its Parliamentary Board and 15 members for the Central Election Committee (CEC).

Former Union Minister and party president Gadkari as well as Chouhan were eliminated from the Parliamentary Board and six new faces were added.

“The new, reconstituted Parliamentary Board shows how the party rewards its old workers and recognizes their expertise.The likes of B.S.Yediyurappa, Satyanarayan Jatia, K.Laxman have given their lives to the party, constructing it brick by brick since the beginning.Their elevation to the top decision-making body is a sign that the party regards its highly regarded Karyakartas (workers),” BJP sources said.

In announcing the diverse nature of the newly formed Parliamentary Board, BJP sources stated: “There is an emphasis on diversity.Sarbananda Sonowal is from the Northeast, L.Laxman and B.S.Yeddyurappa come from the South.In Iqbal Singh Lalpura there is an Sikh.”

“Sudha Yadav” is a self-made politician who was the husband of a martyred man in Kargil.Her presence in the Parliamentary Board shows the utmost respect for women and the families of soldiers.The number of representatives from the South and Northeast is at an all-time record in the Parliamentary Board,” sources said.

Eleven members of the newly formed Parliamentary Board includes BJP chief J.P.Nadda and Premier Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and Sarbananda Sonowal and ex- Karnataka Chief Minister Yediyurappa, OBC Morcha national president K.Laxman, Iqbal Singh Lalpura Sudha Yadav Satyanarayan Jatia, national secretary (organisation) B.L.Santhosh.

Six new faces in the Parliamentary Board are Yediyurappa, Sonowal, Laxman, Lalpura, Yadav and Jatiya.

The 15-member Central Election Committee includes the 11 members of the Parliamentary Board and Union Minister Bhupender Yadav as well as Vice Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, Om Mathur and the national president of the party’s women group Vanathi Srinivasan.

Senior officials Shahnawaz Hussain and Jual Oram were removed out of the CEC.
