Los Angeles, December 25, 2008 : .According to local health officials, Los Angeles County’s single-day Covid-19 case spike has more than tripled in just a few days.According to Xinhua, the Los Angeles County Public Health Department recorded 9,988 cases of new infections on Christmas Eve.This is a new record for Los Angeles County with more than 10 million inhabitants.
Additionally, 21 deaths were reported by the Department, which brings total county death tolls to 1,595.239 and 27.533.
801 people are currently being treated with Covid-19.
According to the Department, the average daily rate for people who test positive for the virus has increased to 15% as of Friday.
Public health officials in the area warned this week about the “highest” rises the county has seen since the outbreak.
This was due to the Omicron variant’s rapid circulation.
As new cases keep rising, the Department advised people to have their vaccines or boosters.
The department warns that holiday gatherings or travel may be dangerous.They advise people to use masks indoors as well as outdoors, and have their skin tested for any signs of illness or exposure.
