National Aeronautics and Space Administration has developed a new space toilet, and it costs $23 million.
Most people think toilets may not be a big concern for the astronauts, but yes, it is a bit concern and has difficulty and discomfort for the astronauts.
Hence, on the feedback of the astronauts, NASA has developed a new space toilet which costs at $23 million, approximately, Rs 168 plus crores in Indian currency.
All these years, International Space Station has been using Russia-made toilets.
From a long time, astronauts have been complaining about their discomfort on the toilets though they are still functioning.Especially for women astronauts, it has caused a worry while they are in space.
Therefore, Nasa made a $23 million worth toilet with titanium terming it as Universal Waste Management System.The new one will have a test run in the coming months following a few missions into space.
The new toilet weighs 45 kilograms and measures 28 inches tall.Compared to Russian-built toilets, the new ones will have lighter weight and 65% smaller in size than the current ISS toilets.
