King Nagarjuna who was last seen in the romantic and family drama ‘Manmadhudu 2’, which was a disaster at the box office, will be next seen in an investigative thriller drama ‘Wild Dog’ which is directed by Solomon. Nagarjuna has already wrapped up the entire shoot and the makers have also started the post-production activities.
In the film, Nagarjuna is playing the role of NIA Officer Vijay Varma.However, the makers of the film have chosen to skip the traditional theatrical release and choose to release their film over an OTT platform.
Reports say that Netflix offered a whopping Rs.27 crores to Matinee Entertainments and they did not refuse this luring amount.Furthermore, Netflix is planning to premiere ‘Wild Dog’ on its platform on the occasion of Republic Day i.e., on January 26th. ‘Wild Dog’ being a cop drama and the Republic Day premiere would be a perfect outing.Matinee Entertainments is in talks for the satellite rights and they are expecting not less than Rs.10 crores.The digital and satellite rights all together make Rs.37 crore which is a huge amount under the current circumstances.
‘Wild Dog’ involves the National Investigation Agency’s operations that are based on true incidents.Produced by Niranjan Reddy and Anvesh Reddy, the film also stars Dia Mirza, Saiyami Kher, Atul Kulkarni, and Ali Reza in pivotal characters.
Let’s see if this can give King Nagarjuna a much-needed hit.
