Myanmar will host a tourism fair to help revive pandemic-stricken tourism sector

Yangon 13 August, Yangon : Myanmar will hold its seventh tourism fair in Yangon, the city that is commercial of Yangon in September in attempt to revitalize the tourism industry that has been hit by pandemics.
The fair aims at boosting the tourism industry, as visas are being renewed in various nations, Naung Naung Han, Chair of Myanmar Tourism Entrepreneurs Association (MTEA) said to Xinhua on Friday.

“After the tourism show in 2019 no event has been scheduled due to the issue of Covid-19.Then in 2022, the rate of vaccination in the country is becoming more affluent,” said the MTEA Chair, citing the reasons of organizing the event in a new way.

Information on travel can be obtained at the event scheduled for the 17th and 18th of September in Yangon, he added.

Travel tour and airline companies will provide packages of domestic tours as well as outbound tours with discounted prices during the show, he said.

Myanmar began operations of commercial flights on international flights in April and since since then the amount of tourists who visit Myanmar has steadily increased, Xinhua news agency reported.

Between April to June, 42,315 foreigners came to the country, which was up 22.9 percent year-on-year according to official figures.

As of Friday, Myanmar recorded 614,335 Covid-19 infections, with 19435 deaths and 593,081 recovery The Health Ministry’s data showed.
