Lucknow 10 August : Anu Tyagi, wife of the self-proclaimed BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi, on Wednesday stated that her husband was a part of the BJP.Speaking to the media, she alleged that her family was being slandered at the request of BJP MP Mahesh Sharma. When asked about Mahesh’s claim that Shrikant Tyagi wasn’t an BJP member, she said: “My husband was a BJP member.The whole drama is being carried out on the behest of Mahesh Sharma.
He was abusive to the commissioner of police.This is why the police were being unruly with us.”
She stated, “My husband would have surrendered on the first day, but we were in the waiting room for a lawyer so we could pursue the appropriate legal recourse.If I had not been held in the police station my husband would have surrendered on the next day, as I could have hired an attorney and sought legal advice,” she said.
She also stated she was aware that Shrikant Tyagi had surrendered and was not arrested in any of the raids.
Anu Tyagi claimed that her employees were subjected to third-degree torture.
She added that her kids were being abused.
She stated: “I was not tortured physically but I was being pounded mentally.The police behaved badly in every way that they could while I was completely participating in the probe.Where is Yogi Ji now? Do I really not look like a woman?”
“At the police station I begged to let me go, as my children were home on their own.There was no police officer there,” she said.
Shrikant Tyagi was arrested by Noida police on Tuesday, after assaulting and abusing one woman at his housing association in Noida.
His arrest came one day after bulldozers destroyed the illegally constructed structures in front of his home at the Grand Omaxe housing society in Noida’s Sector 93B.
