6. Moral police: 2 K’taka students are under attack

Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka : , Nov 16, 2016 Police said Tuesday that six people were arrested in relation to a case of moral policing in Surathkal in Dakshina Kannada’s Surathkal district.
The incident happened on Monday late night, said the Surathkal police.

According to Surathkal police, the incident occurred late at night on Monday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Prahlad, Prashanth, Guruprasad, Prateesh, Bharath and Sukesh.

Prahlad and Guruprasad were identified as the arrested people.

Mohammad Yasin, BSc student of Mukka Srinivas college and his classmate, girl student belonging to another religion, were the victims.

Police said that Yasin was dropping the girl on his bike to her apartment at 10 p.m.Yasin, according to police, was taking the girl from her home on his bicycle at 10:10 p.m.The accused persons, who spotted them near the apartment, stopped them and inquired about the boy’s name, and assaulted him for dropping the girl.They were spotted near Yasin’s apartment and stopped them.Then they assaulted the boy for leaving the girl.They also threatened the girl and touched her inappropriately while assaulting Yasin.The accused persons also assaulted Yasin and threatened Yasin with physical violence.

The victim later lodged a complaint against the accused persons.Later, the victim filed a complaint against those accused.The police are investigating the matter.Police are currently investigating.
