Surprise visit by Modi to Varanasi Station

Varanasi : , Dec 14, 2014: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Varanasi Railway Station unscheduled.
The Prime Minister took to Twitter Tuesday morning and stated: “Next stop.Banaras station.Our goal is to improve rail connectivity and ensure passenger-friendly stations.Inspecting important development projects in Kashi.We strive to build the best infrastructure possible for this holy city.

A meeting was also held by the Prime Minister with the Chief Ministers, which lasted until Monday night.

Himanta Biswa Sarma (Assam Chief Minister) attended the meeting and informed the participants that it lasted six hours.He also tweeted: “Thanks Narendra Modi Ji, for providing us with wisdom and visions for a better India over the 6-hour long, exhaustive, and intense discussion.”

N Biren Singh Singh, the Chief Minister of Manipur, tweeted “Thank you PM Narendra Modi Ji for your invaluable guidance and suggestions for an united strong India.Your passion and energy to lead the nation into greater heights is something we really appreciate.You aren’t taking any rest, even after so many busy engagements such as the meeting lasting six hours.

The Prime Minister, on Tuesday, will also participate in a conclave of Chief Ministers from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, along with the Deputy Chief Ministers from Bihar and Nagaland.

The conclave will provide an opportunity to share governance-related best practices and is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of furthering team India spirit.
