Indian composer MM Keeravani has recently won an Oscar for Best Original Song for “Naatu Naatu” in the film RRR.In a viral interview with film critic Baradwaj Rangan, Keeravani credited director Ram Gopal Varma as his first Oscar, as he gave him his first break in the industry with the film Kshanam Kshanam in 1991.

Keeravani recalled how he was a newcomer in the industry at the time, and Varma had taken a chance on him, which helped him gain more attention in the industry.Keeravani stated that Varma played an important role in his career, and he is grateful to him.

Keeravani went on to explain that he had approached around 51 people in the industry to listen to his tune, but only Varma gave him a chance.He said that Varma was his “Oscar” because Varma’s association helped him get more chances in the industry.

Keeravani praised Varma for his role in the success of the film Shiva, which helped him become a well-known director, and Kshanam Kshanam, which helped Keeravani gain more recognition in the industry.

RGV responded to Keeravani’s compliment by sharing the video on his Twitter account.He expressed that he felt like he was dead because typically only deceased individuals receive such high praise.Keeravani’s recent win at the Oscars has made him the toast of the nation, and his song “Naatu Naatu” has made people dance to the beats of Indian music.

The film RRR tells the fictional story of friendship between two real-life freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, and stars Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, and Alia Bhatt.It has collected over Rs 1,200 crore worldwide since its release in March last year.
