Missile strike close to Ukrainian nuke plant kills eleven

Kiev 10 Aug : At at least 11 individuals were killed in the nighttime missile strikes in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, which is close to the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant the military in the region said on Wednesday.
“A terrible evening in the Nikopol area , the Russian army killed 11 people and injured 13” the commander of the Dnipropetrovsk military administration Valentyn Reznichenko stated in an article on Telegram.

Two of the areas affected are located on opposite banks of the Dnipro River to the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant which has been hit multiple times in the past few days, according to the news agency dpa.

The town of Marhanets of Marhanets was the most severely affected, with 20 multi-storey buildings damaged, including two schools as well as a dormitory and Cultural centre, Reznichenko said.

10 persons were killed in the town, and 11 others were injured seven of them critically, he said.

In another village , close to Nikopol city, a second woman died in her home due to the impact of the attack.A couple were injured.

Two villages lie situated on the northern bank of the Dnipro River’s Kakhovka reservoir.

On the southern end, less than 20 kilometers away lies the nuclear power plant which has caught fire, triggering international security concerns.

Ukraine as well as Russia both accuse one another of involvement in the terrorist attacks.
