Minister Sabitha inaugurates 100 CCTV cameras in Badangpet Municipal Corporation.
Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy inaugurated 100 CCTV Cameras that installed in the three colonies of Badangpet Municipal Corporation on Tuesday.
The CCTV cameras installed as a part of expanding the Community CCTV cameras network across Rachakonda.Rachakonda Police Commissioner, Mahesh Bhagwat has also participated in the event.
Speaking at the event, Sabitha said CCTV cameras are vital in identifying the offenders, and they help to speed up the investigation process.One CCTV is equal to 100 police officers, said the Education Minister.
While applauding the initiative, Sabitha also appealed the public to join hands for a safer Rachakonda by installing more cameras in the remaining colonies.
On the other hand, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said CCTV cameras became a vital aspect of modern-day policing.
Currently, 67 per cent of the crimes were being detected using these CCTV cameras, said the commissioner.He has also urged the citizens and public to install CCTV cameras in every colony to make Badangpet Municipality as the first one to have 100 per cent CCTV network coverage area.
