The Amaravati Meteorological department has forecast moderate to heavy rains with thunders and lightning for two days in coastal areas and Rayalaseema due to the effect of southwesterly winds.It is reported that the Southwest monsoon will fully extend across the AP shortly.

Due to this, there will be heavy rains in the state from today.

It is reported that the low pressure developed in the Bay of Bengal is going to couple with the monsoon by the 11th of this month and may result in heavy rains in several parts of Andhra Pradesh for the next two days.

The low pressure will gradually strengthen and move towards the Odisha coast and turn into a cyclone within 24 hours.

Due to this, Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam and both the Godavari districts will receive heavy to extremely heavy rains from June 11 to 14, the Amaravati Meteorological department announced.

The effect of the low pressure can be witnessed mainly in the coastal areas from the 11th of this month.Winds with a maximum speed of 45 to 60 KMPH are forecasted along the coast.

Amaravati Meteorological officials have warned fishermen not to go for fishing from 11 to 15 of this month.
