Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachhan received a rare honor.Amitabh is chosen for the prestigious ANR Award for the year 2014.
The award will be officially announced supposedly in the second week of next month in an official press meet by the Akkineni International Foundation.
The annual award was instituted in 2005 by the Akkineni International Foundation with an intent to recognise the contribution of stalwarts in the film industry.It comes with a memento, a citation and a cash prize of Rs.5 lakh.
The first to be chosen was Dev Anand.Others include Shabana Azmi (2006), Anjali Devi (2007), Vyjayantimala Bali (2008), Lata Mangeshkar (2009) ,K.Balachander in 2010, Hema Malini (2011), Syam Benegal (2012), Sridevi (2013).
Amtabh having good relations with Akkineni family and he recently played a cameo in Akkineni Multistarrer Manam.
Its worth to mention that Amitabh Bachchan earlier chosen for NTR National Film Award for the year-2011.
